CELEBRATE NEW YEAR IN SYDNEY
Sydney has earned its reputation as a favourite destination for travellers, certainly one of the most breathtaking and spectacular places to bring in the New Year.
The sight of the New Year’s Eve Fireworks launching into the night sky from the arch of the Sydney Harbour Bridge is unequalled. So much so, that Sydney has recently been voted world's best destination for New Year Eve Celebrations.
The New Years Eve Firework display is always well attended; one which draws hundreds of thousands of keen observers to any available patch of grass, road or rooftop.
NEW YEARS EVE ACCOMMODATION IN SYDNEY
Accommodation in Sydney over the New Year is usually booked out well in advance, especially that with views of the Fireworks, or near the harbour. Last year many hotels were fully booked for stays over the New Year by August and those with views of the fireworks were fully booked by mid year.
Most hotels in Sydney have higher prices and strict booking conditions over the busy New Year period. Luxury and 5 Star properties in the city, or preferred areas such as the beach or eastern suburbs are the most sought after, and are available at rates beginning around A$300 per night.
For families travellers, groups or tourists accommodation in 3 – 4 Star properties is available from around A$150 – A$250 per night.
For less than A$150 per night one should expect budget accommodation, or in less preferred areas.
Remember that in Australia, Christmas and New Year come in the middle of summer -- a season for every visitor who enjoys the beachside lifestyle, balmy nights and cold drinks.
